MANUK / OLD KENT ROAD MOSQUE MESSAGE ON THE RECENT FIRE INCIDENT AT GRENFELL TOWER BLOCK AND THE RECENT TERRORIST ATTACK ON MUSLIMS NEAR FINSBURY PARK MOSQUE
The MANUK/Old Kent Road Mosque community expresses its sincere condolences to all the victims of the recent fire incident at the Grenfell Tower Block in West London. We are indeed saddened by this unfortunate incident and our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives and those who suffered injuries in the incident. The community is also greatly shocked by the resent terrorist attack on Muslims who were coming from the mosque after the days fasting and prayer at Finsbury Park Mosque in London. We strongly condemn this wicked act of terror on the Muslim community in this holy month of Ramadan. We share the pains of the victims of both incidents and that of their families and pray that may Allah console them and ease their pains.
We call on all our Muslims brothers and sisters to use the remaining few days of the holy month of Ramadan to continue in their prayers for peace in our communities and we enjoin all to spread the message of love, tolerance and unity. We should all remain vigilant but not be cowered by those who aim at dividing our communities through fear and discord.
We appeal to both Muslims and non-Muslims to come together during these difficult times to ensure that those who want to spread fear and discord within our communities do not succeed.
We commend the dedication of the emergency services for their prompt responses to the two incidents and we are particularly proud and commend the unified front demonstrated during both incidents within the London community.
