Job Description:

To be responsible for the provision of an efficient administrative and clerical support function for the Markaz and maintain systems to facilitate effective day to day running and financial control within the Markaz.
Skills required: 
Experience: Candidate must have previous administrative experience. Good organizational skills and communication skills. Must be able to multitask and work efficiently in the case of any emergency. He/she must be Educated to degree level or equivalent
The Administrator
shall be responsible for the smooth running of the Markaz office, maintain the school’s financial systems and accounts, maintain the various school computerised and paper databases of pupil and staff information. He/she shall assist in the management of the school premise as well as manage the Head of Markaz’s day to day administration

Required language:
• English, Ability to speak Yoruba will be an advantage.

Duties:
Main duties and responsibilities are indicated here.  Other duties of an appropriate level and nature will also be required.

 

  1. Responsibility for the smooth running of the Markaz office, including:

 

  • Ensuring sufficient cover of staff during holiday or sickness absence.
  • Planning work schedules and ensuring that all staff is aware of impending work projects, etc.
  • Identifying training needs and bringing them to the attention of the Head of Markaz for discussion.
  • Maintaining accurate attendance, sickness and holiday records of all Markaz students and staff.
  • Responsibility for the Markaz’s support staff not directly involved in

Learning.

  • To temporarily cover the Head of Markaz / Education Officer in their absence.
  • To set up and properly manage Markaz’s library / resource center and keep proper updated record of all stock.

 

  1. Maintenance of the Markaz’s financial and accountancy systems, including:

 

  • Responsibility for the preparation and production of all financial information required for the preparation of the annual budget, monthly income and expenditure accounts and financial reports and returns.
  • Responsibility for the Markaz’s accounting procedures, controlling petty cash, and the arrangements required for periodic audits.
  • Responsibility for the preparation of the necessary information required by the payroll provider and liaising with that provider.
  • Co-ordinating the purchase of goods and supplies, ensuring that the school obtains best possible value for money from suppliers and contractors.
  • To ensure that all students are up to date with their fees.  If not, fee procedures must be followed.
  • To ensure that fees are collected on time, and that accurate record are kept at all times.
  • To have overall responsibility for the receipt of all monies received by the Markaz and hand over to MAN’s Treasury.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Markaz, to manage the income generating activities of the Markaz.

 

  1. Maintaining computerised and paper databases of pupil and staff information, including:

 

  • Acting as Systems Manager for the administrative computer network and being responsible for the security of data and access rights to the system.
  • Inputting and updating of all appropriate students and staff information and producing reports when required.
  • Assisting staff in the production and maintenance of Students’ records.
  • Providing administrative support to the Markaz’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENco.).

 

 

  1. Assisting in the management of the Markaz premises, including:

 

  • To ensure all classes are set up before the beginning of each lesson and the required teaching materials are provided.
  • To ensure, with the knowledge of the Head of Markaz, that all teachers submits a lesson note for each lesson and that such note is in line with the syllabus.
  • To ensure, with the knowledge of the Head of Markaz, that syllabus are properly followed and adhered to.

 

 

  1. Managing the Head of Markaz’s day to day administration, including:

 

  • Administration of new admissions, parental interviews and appeals procedures.
  • To ensure health & safety issues are properly monitored and any concern is raised at once with the M.A.N. health & safety officer and the Principal and the Education Secretary informed urgently.

 

Special Conditions of Service

 

Note: Post-holder may be required to work outside of normal Markaz hours on occasion, with due notice.

 

Because of the nature of the post, candidates are not entitled to withhold information regarding convictions by virtue of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exemptions) Order 1975 as amended. Candidates are required to give details of any convictions on their application form and are expected to disclose such information at the appointed interview.

 

Because this post allows substantial access to children, candidates are required to comply with Markaz’s procedures in relation to police checks. Job Description: To provide community leadership and network role, Islamic religious guidance, practices, and leadership to the local Muslim community in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Mohammad (peace and blessing be upon him), lead prayers, establish and promote educational and extracurricular programs for adults and youth, lead the establishment of a unified Muslim community welcoming to all Muslims from different backgrounds and cultures, engage with the larger community to promote friendship and understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims in the entire community.
Skills required: 
Experience: 3 years in similar field. The ideal candidate should have a qualification equivalent to bachelor’s degree and Hafizul Qur'an (memorised the entire holy Quran).

The candidates must have sound knowledge and understanding of Islamic faith as a whole. Profound knowledge of Holly Quran and Hadith and other important Islamic scriptures and text are required. It will be highly recommended that the applicants show an excellent skill in public speaking and ability to explain, narrate and interpret the Islamic Holy Scriptures. Be the link between the Religious leaders and the community, providing social and spiritual leadership (social mobility) of the generality of the community.
The candidate should also be able to write and speak fluently in Arabic, English and Yoruba Candidate must have excellent communication skills. Candidate should be eager to learn
